Stainless steel is a very hard and wear-resistant metal, which makes stamping this metal impossible. These medals are therefore not stamped but cast in a mold at a high temperature. The temperature required to melt stainless steel is 1400°C, while, for example, silver melts around 900°C. For this reason, the definition and details of our stainless steel medals are less precise than, for example, a medal stamped from tin, brass, or sterling silver.
